Fortnite's Tournament could be one of the Biggest ever in E-sport History
Fortnite has become one of the most played free games around the gaming industry and epic games is making a record for hosting the biggest e-sport tournament with a massive prize pool.
Epic Games recently announced that they will shell out $100,000,000 to fund fortnite esports tournament prize pool just for the first year of competitive play.
The Current biggest Tournament prize pool ever happened was from "The International 2017" (A dota 2 Championship tournament) Where they shelled out over $24,000,000 in prize pools.
But For this year's E3 event, Epic Games are dropping some events at their Booth including:
Fortnite Celebrity Pro-Am Tournament
Where 50 Celebrities and 50 Pros will pair up to battle and earn their way up to the ultimate Victory Royale for a prize of $3,000,000 in charity prize money where the winning duo will donate to their charity of choice. The Winning duo will also receive $1,000,000 in charity to split. (The prize money for this tournament will not come from the $100M designated for the Fortnite Events)
The featured pairs are:
- Ninja X Marshmello
- Myth X Paul George
- Pokimane X Desiigner
- Markiplier X Joel mchale
- Gotaga X Demetrious Johnson
The Epic Showdown will stream live starting at 3:30PM PST on June 12th. Epic will also giveaway some items for the viewers of their livestream.
Fortnite Party Royale
Epic will also host a celebration called Fortnite Party Royale to compliment the fortnite fans. The party will only be set as invite only but anyone are able to visit their booth at E3 and they will also giveaway some tickets to some of the viewers.
