Check Out This Frigid and Astonishing Uncharted Fact You Probably Didn't Know

When enemies take down on Drake, his "luck" will sooner or later run out, and at that mark enemy bombardment will kill him.  According to animator Jonathan Cooper announced on Twitter that the red barometer in the UI that will appear when you're held down attack is not a health meter, but alternately a "luck" meter.

That’s a mega-swing! Sidenote I learned on joining the team: Drake doesn’t ever take bullet damage. The red UI that shows ‘hits’ is to represent his ‘luck’ running out. Eventually enemies will get a clear shot and kill him if he takes enough near-misses.

Uncharted 4 was the concluding game in the series to paramount Nathan Drake and disclosed the last one that Naughty Dog plans to make.

Throughout the Uncharted series, Naughty Dog went out of their way to sneak in callbacks to their past games. For example, in Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Victor Sullivan is shown to own his own private plane, a Grumman G-21 Goose seaplane named Hog Wild. That name is a reference to a level of the same name in the original Crash Bandicoot.

The most explicit callback however, is in Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, where Nate and Elena (and you) actually spend time playing the first level of the original Crash Bandicoot on an old school PS1. It's a nostalgic connection to the past in a game that marks the end of an era for Naughty Dog.
