Sony discontinuing the productions of PS Vita Game Cartridges in 2019
Sony PS Vita's proprietary game cartridges will come to extinction because Sony reportedly will discontinue the production of physical game version/Cartridges of PS Vita starting on 2019.
The news was revealed when Sony sent a message to the Game Developers, Where Sony asks that all Product Codes requests shall be submitted by June 28, 2018 and can be only purchased until February 15 next year.
A Sony Spokesperson has also reportedly confirmed that the Vita card productions will come to an end.
PS Vita was launched in 2012 with an expectation to become as the "Console Gaming on the Go" but the PS Vita quickly lost all the hype when mobile and tablet gaming has risen.
The Noticeable downside for PS Vita was their pricey proprietary memory cards and probably that's the reason why most people and game developers quickly cuts their support for the Vita, but Japan continued the support that's why PS Vita is quite popular in Japan and many different Japanese Titles has been released as of this writing.
PS Vita somehow has made some contribution to the Gaming Industry but the new Nintendo's Flagship "Switch" is slowly taking over the Crown of the Pocket Console Gaming and PS Vita might be a step closer to soon say goodbye.
