Co-Founder of Atari Ted Dabney, Died at 81


One of the Pioneers of the Gaming Industry has passed. Ted Dabney is one of the most influential person in the world of gaming.

He Co-founded Atari with Nolan Bushnell. Ted has died after deciding not to undergo treatment for esophageal cancer.


Ted and Bushnell created the Atari's Predecessor Syzygy in 1971 and made the first commercial arcade game "Computer Space" Then they later used Syzygy as a starting point for Atari and together with developer Al Alcorn, they Released the Iconic game "Pong" in 1972.


Atari is a corporate/brand name owned by several entities since its inception in 1972, now owned by Atari Interactive, a subsidiary of the French Publisher Atari, SA.





His Friend Posted on Facebook today stating Ted's Passing


Ted Dubney has played a crucial role for launching the video game market and without him, probably the Game Industry will never be able to stand this way, He'll surely be missed.
